The weather is changing, leaves are falling, and it’s time to break out the basket of fall books. Grab your kiddos, a warm blanket, and enjoy these cozy reads!
One thing I love to do is swap out seasonal books to keep them fresh.
There’s nothing like using books to help teach children various things and to use them as an opportunity for discussion. Reading to kids does a lot of things:
- Books about hard topics
- How to read to kids who won’t sit still
- Increasing a child’s reading stamina

FAQs
I like to pack my fall books up with my fall decorations, my Christmas books up with my Christmas decorations, etc. This way they all stay together, and it makes it extra exciting to decorate for the new season for the kids because they can get their books out.
Find a spot in your home that is accessible to your kids and make it comfortable – add pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, etc. to create a cozy feel. Ask your kids to help you make it cozy and add things they enjoy. It doesn’t need to be complicated or expensive because creating a place of connection is the most important part.
Use it with them regularly! It will become a place of connection and comfort and they will want to keep coming back for more. When my kids were little, we read together after every meal. This became a regular part of our routine, and I would often find them in our reading corner waiting for me after I was finished in the kitchen.
